The Three I's
What we do every day!
Intent Our intent is our curriculum, our plan and what we are going to teach, a balance between child initiated and adult led, a hybrid educational approach, bringing together the best methodologies, with carefully planned continuous provision and an enabling environment that evolves to meet the needs of our children. Implementation Our implementation is our Pedagogy, what we do, how we teach and present our curriculum. What we do in every day to ensure the children make progress, communication, friendly resources in the enabling environment, enhancements, group work, challenges, invitations to play and interactions in play. Impact Our impact is reviewing teaching and assessing the learning, this shows we make a difference. The children make good progress from their starting point. Impact is shown with our observations, formative and summative assessments for each child when discussing next steps and children’s interests. What it means to us: Intent: Using our knowledge, the Development Matters and Birth to Five Matters statements and phases to help us monitor and guide the teaching of the children within the setting. Our experience of childcare enables us to know what works for each child, we bring these all together by working as a team and communicating with each other to support each and every child in our care. Our black book of daily doings is where we can log and monitor what was happening each day so that the whole team and catch up on their in to see what we have been up to and who has been doing what! Implementation: Relying on our knowledge of setting out the hall in a way that is inviting and allowing our children to play safely and cooperatively. Giving them the freedom to explore and learn from what is about them and how we as adults interact with them. Watching them and observing, knowing how to set up play and learning and then moving away to allow the children to take responsibility. Impact: How we review and discuss what we have seen and learnt from the children, have they made progress? How we see progress, working together for each child, working with families to assist the development and growth of each child. Having a start and a way forward, working with everyone to make sure we keep moving forward. |
